Welcome to D Blake & Co Ltd
Established as a plumbing contractor in 1877, D Blake has more recently specialised, and is now better known for its high quality work in architectural cladding and restoration of lead, copper, zinc and stainless steel.
With clients throughout Scotland (and beyond), from Orkney to the Borders, D Blake have worked on some of Scotland’s most prestigious buildings including Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh Castle, the Usher Hall, Drumlanrig Castle and Bowhill House in the Borders, McManus Galleries in Dundee and Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities, just to name a few.
We pride ourselves in producing consistently high standards of work and have built up a loyal client base over the years. We offer a full supply and installation service for all types of lead and copper roofing, and the more contemporary applications of zinc and stainless steel, working either as a main contractor or subcontractor. Technical guidance and advice on metal roofing is also freely given.
D Blake is a founder member of the Lead Contractors Association (LCA) and a previous winner of the Murdoch Award, the UK’s most prestigious award for leadwork. We are also founder members of the Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC), and members of the Scottish and Northern Irish Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF).
